A Heart of Gratitude
May I take a moment to bare my soul? The journey to developing AffirmMePlease, sharing my heart through this brand and blog, wasn't always a straight path for me. You see, I'm what some might call an introvert. So much so that, confession time -- I'm that person who rarely turns to their neighbor during a sermon. But as much as I tried to convince myself that AffirmMePlease might not be directly tied to my purpose, God had other plans, and He made them abundantly clear to me.
Isaiah 55:11 reminds us that God's Word never returns empty but accomplishes His purpose. I can still vividly recall the nerves that consumed me when I posted the very first affirmation on Instagram. Thoughts swirled in my mind like, "What on earth am I doing? How will this be received?" I found myself attempting to self-sabotage at every turn. There were moments when I'd post affirmations that leaned into the "universe" instead of firmly anchoring them in the Kingdom. At one point early in this journey, I even boldly declared, "I need to see a monetary return on investment from this." Yet, the Holy Spirit continued to gently convict me, reminding me that AffirmMePlease followed a divine roadmap, and everything would unfold in God's perfect timing. I distinctly remember the moment when I finally felt at peace, fully embracing God's perfect plan for this incredible journey.
IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL
Proverbs 18:21 teaches us about the power of our words.
Not all affirmations are created equal. Within the Bible itself, we find promises that can help us align our lives with God's truth.
Through biblical affirmations, you can etch God's Word into your heart and be continually reminded of who God says you are. The truth is, God loves you immensely, and within you lies incredible strength. He has plans for your life that are more wonderful than you can imagine.
By engaging in the daily practice of biblical affirmations, you can nurture your faith, boost your self-confidence, and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. The Bible is a treasure trove of promises and "I am" statements about our identity in Christ, making it a rich source of inspiration for crafting affirmations that align with God's truth.
JOY
And so, here we are today, standing on the other side of reluctant obedience, as Habakkuk 2:2-3 reminds us to write the vision and make it plain. AffirmMePlease was born from a place where I sometimes dragged my feet but knew deep down that it was a calling I couldn't ignore. I watched others embark on similar journeys, but God assured me that my path was unique, held especially for me.
It's not about who reaches their destination first; it's about running the race God has set before you. Together, let's affirm what we're believing God for in this season of our lives. Welcome to AffirmMePlease, my dear Affirmers, where we journey together, uplift one another, and embrace the incredible promises of our faith.
